Kingston Literacy and Skills is seeing passionate volunteers to tutor adult learners in their Language Instruction for Newcomers to Canada (LINC) and Literacy and Basic Skills (LBS) programs.

What You’ll Do:

-Work with adult learners 1:1 on English language, literacy, or job skills

-Tutor for 1-2 hours weekly, with a particular need for Friday mornings 9am-12pm

All welcome including Queen’s students (18+), seniors and retirees, newcomers with English at CLB 6+, and current or former educators. No teaching experience is required-just patience, compassion, and a commitment to helping others succeed.

Interested in volunteering? We occasionally have some volunteer opportunities throughout the year. You may want to assist at a TESL Kingston workshop, at our AGM, during ESL Week, or in some other way. We encourage budding journalists who would like to contribute to our website. Writing articles qualifies you for PD hours. Email us if you are interested in volunteering in one of these capacities. If you would like to volunteer in an ESL program, please contact localĀ ESL providers directly.
